It’s a new year, and to kick it off we wanted to bring some new competition to the forefront during this (for most of us) cold and wet time of the year. Introducing the Assetto Corsa Model 3 Challenge – 2024 Edition!

New for this year, we’ll be offering the option of utilizing MPP’s take on the Refresh (Highland) Model 3, or the classic 2019 version! If you haven’t had a chance to download it already, check it at the discord link below!

Before you ask, we’ll be announcing the full real life Model 3 Challenge schedule shortly – look for that towards the end of January. We’re really excited with how 2023 went and can’t wait to do it all over again in ’24 at some incredible venues, along with some minor format changes that should make the series both more accessible and more fun.

Now, back to the virtual Model 3 Challenge:

Format

The format of the Assetto Corsa series will follow similarly to the Model 3 Challenge format, with 15-minute blocks including practice, qualifying, and three races. As such, plan to spend about an hour and 15 minutes with us during each event:

  • Practice
  • Qualifying
  • Race #1
  • Race #2
  • Race #3

Schedule

We’re looking to host several of these casual events throughout the year, beginning with winter and into early spring. Here’s the preliminary schedule for the first part of the year.

Sunday, February 25th, 2024 – 3:00PM EST to 4:15PM EST

Sunday, March 17th, 2024 – 3:00PM EST to 4:15PM EST

How To Join

To join all you need to do is download Assetto Corsa, Content Manager and Discord.

  1. Assetto Corsa can be downloaded from Steam. You’ll want a steering wheel if you don’t already have one!
  2. Content Manager is an alternative launcher for Assetto Corsa that gives you some great options to improve the experience of the game. You can find Content Manager here. We also highly recommend the customer shaders patch for the most realistic and immersive visual experience.
  3. Discord is a hub for gamers and it’s where we will post the download link to the car, the server name and password that you can join at, along with a common chat area and updates!

Here is the link to the Discord channel: https://discord.gg/328GBbN

Once you join Discord and introduce yourself, we will share a link for the car download. Simply download, extract, and copy that folder into your Assetto Corsa installation folder. Do not change the name of the folder! The default location path is as follows:

Program Files (x86) > Steam > steamapps > common > assettocorsa > content > cars

Joining The Server

Once you have the car installed and working you’ll be able to join our server (the server will not show up if you don’t have the content installed).

To join, open Content Manager, go to “Online” and search for “mpp”. The server will show up, and you’ll be able to join it!
